It is coming to an end

Well time is running out in our stay in the NW, amazing to think this is the longest we have stayed anywhere. Maybe the saying about a boomerang may be true (wouldn't rule it out entirely). Just WA Health has to improve alot first, see how the new government goes. Our holiday is coming up soon, all looking forward to it, even have the clothes to help with the acclimatisation. So will keep all updated on the adventures of Costello Clan and nomes.

Been a bit melancholic lately, thinking about all the people who have left the NW (you know who you are) and those who have made this posting bearable, actually one of the best really. Again looking forward to Sydney but not looking forward to the masses. Not much to say this month just trying to organise all the holidays, moving, education and work stuff. See you next month.

So much so little time

I did not realise that I have not added for quite a while, so busy with so many other things. When moving to the NW I thought it would be boring but how wrong I was, I have never been so sociable. I am quite looking forward to moving back to Metro and then I can see I will start to miss remote oh dear. The update so far, last month we had the annual Pilbara Regiment Ball, which is a highlight to the local calendar. I have been helping set it up and busy purchasing many, I repeat many dresses online. And then I go to the local shop and find the perfect dress, the down side is it will take me 10 hours of work to pay off!! But spent much time on setting up the tables for the evening, and I am lucky that I am not quite low maintenance but medium, as it only took me one hour to get ready. And I don't expect good things, but I have realised that high heel shoe are honestly a form of torture, I know that girls are supposed to wear them but why??????? I am tall enough as it is!!! But still I and hubby had a wonderful night and it was our last hoorah to the NW. But on the munchkins front, one is doing extremley well with school work and the other ones top skill is apparently athletics, tomorrow one munchkin competes in the Interschool Carnival. So on the weekend before the race we decided to do some training (I am not a soccer mum, but i want him to win). And he was not bothered just wanted to race his sister, but he still raced dad, and I realised that Dad runs like a girl!!!!!! Not at all like Matt Shirvington!!! So we will update in future the result. Oh and last visit was to a place called Python Pools a good hour drive and really worth it. Water was freezing cold and mother is not stupid she forgot to bring bathers, but it is like a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. So much to this place and so little time to finish exploring. Until next time.

Fickle little ol me!

Well yee hay, I eventually saw the hairdresser today to fix up what was my hair! Now since living here it has always been extremely difficult to see a hairdresser, and my previous history is just making an appointment at least two days beforehand. But here you need to actually make an appointment six weeks!!! in advance. Now I do change my hair colour and cut soo often I am amazed it does not fall out, but now I am back to sexy. The previous hairstyle was a mistake in so many ways, and the original hairdresser didn't do a fantastic job at all. So after spending $250 to go back to sexy I am pretty happy, mind you I will be happy to go back to someone in Sydney who will charge half that for the same job, but I have got the sexy back!!!! (Others of you may not agree). Last night went to a play "Shirley Valentine" and it is also apparent in this town that many people are not aware of play etiquette and some of the rules are as follows: Do not talk to the actors, they will not answer you! And do not provide running commentary during the play, you are not a sports broadcaster if you were you would not be living here! And please do not eat curry before attending, there is no dog to blame! But really it was quite a small and initmate group of audience. Well I shall saunter off with my sexy new haircut (and it makes me look younger than my age ye har)

Well at least I manage it monthly!

Not such an exciting time since last post. Did catch up with an escapee from the NW and I must admit she brings out the worst in me (you know it!!!) Semester one is coming to a close for the munchkins, and much to my surprise they both did quite well, female munchkin obviously better, but surprising for male munchkin. Currently babysitting dog so hubby could have some Knine time, misses his dog. And funny enough the dog is an outside dog, but when it enters the Costello domain it suddenly becomes an inside dog, will soon be investing in Robovacumn!!! So what to do for the school holidays, split the time off with kids, explore possibly more of the NW, or go fising. Actually one interesting thing I have done recently was explore the rock art, most fascinating. A fantastic friend encouraged us all to attend for her fabulous forty frivolity which included the tour, well done. And just to let you eastern side friends know the weather is still quite balmy,a pleasant twenty four during the day hahahahaha. Not looking forward to the move, but I will be able to see RaRa more often as well as the inlaws. Until next month.

Day Trip

Thought for the long weekend we might travel to the next closest town south, Onslow. Only 300something kms south. So it took us two and a half hours to drive there, and the kids happily watching DVD's on the inflight entertainment (except when the disc was scratched). And one pee stop not bad. Got to Onslow, must admit it has it's charms. We stopped at the War memorial that has only just been built, beautiful view. Then onto a 1.5km board walk, it was great it ends at a park that is located near the jetty for the tankers. The town has a pub, shop, police station and two servos, and a museum of the local area history. Had a picnic (which kids did not want), then took a walk along the beach front, and it reminded me a lot of the area where the grandies live now except on the eastcoast and only 1 hour away from the capital city. So we only got to spend two hours in Onslow until the bickering started so it was back in the car and two and half hour drive home. So the next dilema do we attempt a long drive again? Still many things to do here just not enough time! And to add to that I need to see a hairdresser to fix up the mistake that is currently my hair style, so I am looking forward to spending $500 on a flight just to fix it up, plus the actual cost of the appointment oh the joy. But still it is fun up here, winter has started and it is still a brisk 22 degrees (suffer my south eastern friends!!!!)

What an education!

I mentioned last week about an education and boy did I give one. For those who know me pre move to most western part of country, you know me as I shy, little wall flower who usually blushed when there was mention of rude things! You who know me pre move also know that I love the anonimity of the place where I love working (and have worked from 1996-2005) so this was a definite change in pace. Check the photo's out, and bro in law you would be sooooo jealous. I ended up having about 50 people turn up, and apparently I and the other educators were not bad, how good is that. Now I don't think I will keep up this line of work, I am so missing the anonimity of the 'special place" and am so looking forward to returning to it. But then still waiting on where the next move is to. Munchkins are normal, going to school, and one hating it immensley, that is funny cause sometimes I am hating going to work to! At moment have fight between munchkins cause one is the popular munchkin and the other one has no invites, so again if you have any ideas on how to deal with that one let me know. Oh and another interesting thing about this place, it takes one 4 weeks to see a hairdresser, and one was so excited to go and imagine the change in hair, since last haircut was 6 months ago, and unfortunately I didn't come out how I thought I would ( yes I know) but I am happy to perservere and wait till our next trip to metropolitana to sort it out (purple is not that bad).

More

Well been quite busy this week (and last). Catching up with a few friends who managed to leave the area. Now usually I love going out to dinner, and I loved the company that I went out to dinner with, but the food left something to be desired. Honestly Mcdonalds would have tasted a lot better, cost me a fortune and tasted terrible, but I have to learn. Munchkins are up to normal tricks, not much. Moving offers have come through and hubby and I are not impressed at all, nothing that has been offered is any good!!! We were told that if you come to this place when it is time to move you can have first choice, and they (the big boss) have renegged on that one big style. Now don't get me wrong, it is great to see this country at the expense of someone else, but occasionally it is nice to get home (or closer) to the family, not far away again from everything and everyone. I have curbed my shopping habit for a couple of years, is it not fair that I get to improve it again? Though the munchkins won't mind anything I don't think, so we will see what happens. I have some education to give tomorrow so that shall be interesting for all parties involved, I hope it is successful (was not blessed with the education gene). I am sure the bro in law will love what I have to do, but keep waiting and I might show you.
